Spadefish or Drum? Juvenile? Different species?
Description : Shallow water, Francis Bay, St. John USVI. Fish size, maybe 4 inches. Was 'floating' along the bottom looking and acting like a piece of leaf litter.
The face looks like some specie of spadefish, but the tall, hooked fore-dorsal fin doesn't match any description of the Atlantic Spadefish that I've found. I thought maybe Drum?
It was a very exciting find!

I have confirmation from the Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute that this is indeed a juvenile Atlantic Spadefish (Chaetodipterus faber).
Does anyone disagree?
