freshwater fish identification?
Description : Caught in a freshwater pond/swamp in Vancouver British Columbia. About 4 inches in length, I would assume quite young as many 1 inch fry were visible in the water as well.

It's a Gasterosteus sp., that genus has diversified around Vancouver with a number of species pairs that have almost certainly evolved since the end of the Pleistocene
